Talking about those who claim Trump’s inner circle, and not the president, are at fault for the ill-conceived war in Iran, economy-crippling tariffs and every other unpopular or ineffective policy, Stewart snarked, “Of course, the man who has the greatest agency that has ever been promoted from the Oval Office is suddenly at a whim.” The satirical political pundit added that “the thing that I get most frustrated with” is people who argue someone had to have had “convinced” Trump to instigate war or that his waning “mental acuity” was the problem. “When people say, like, ‘Well, I’m upset with him now, and I regret my vote ‘cause he lied.’ He lied the minute he came down the escalator, through, ‘Oh, it’s the largest inauguration that’s ever been seen throughout history.’”
