The animated short, directed by Syama Pedersen – better known online as Digital Bones – and set in the world created by Mauro, serves as both a tone piece and a proof of concept for the expanding Huxley saga. Pedersen himself acknowledges the constraints of short-form worldbuilding: “With a short runtime, it’s always a challenge to effectively communicate a sense of the world and the characters. On the first trailer, he appreciated having director Sava Zivkovic select “the coolest things to use to sell the idea.” Left to his own devices, he admits he might lean too linear: “Well, this happens, and then this has to happen next,” thinking like a novelist.
