Since the start of the war, Russia has consistently targeted Ukrainian energy facilities, leaving the country scrambling to provide power to its homes and industries, often in subzero temperatures. The meeting on Friday was reportedly tense, with the US president reportedly sharing Putin’s demand that Ukraine cede the entirety of its eastern Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
