First known ship to escape the Strait of Hormuz for Australia set to arrive


The battle over the Strait of Hormuz By moving so much of the war into the Strait of Hormuz and Persian Gulf, Tehran has hit its adversaries where it hurts the most and analysts warn that while the United States military is mighty, history shows in asymmetrical warfare, the lesser power can win the day. At least 20 commercial vessels have been targeted in and around the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the war, according to shipping security monitors, as the threat of Iranian attacks strangles the critical shipping lane, impacting global supply chains. But that ongoing threat and attacks that have occurred on vessels across the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman have shaken the confidence of most commercial operators from transiting the strait, where normally upwards of 100 vessels would sail through each day.
