The Hamas-run Interior Ministry stated it was committed to preventing the presence of armed men inside hospitals in Gaza and that action would be taken against anyone caught with a weapon on the grounds of Nasser Hospital. The group made the change at Nasser Hospital in January but only quietly announced the decision on a webpage recently, according to the Associated Press. During the war in Gaza, Israel conducted raids on the vast majority of hospitals in the Strip to root out terrorists who used the buildings to store weapons and ammunition, according to the outlet.
