Condemning the incident President Jalal Uddin, in a statement, expressed outrage, declaring, “We cannot accept Pakistani militants killing our brothers in the name of Islam because our ancestors did not support Jinnah during the partition of the country.” The union demanded that Pakistan be held accountable for the bloodshed and urged the Indian government to respond decisively, even suggesting the possibility of declaring war if necessary. Highlighting the need for justice, the union announced plans to organise candlelight marches in various districts of Assam to honor the victims of the Pahalgam attack. Moreover in Sivasagar, The Assam State Journalists Union (ASJU), the leading media forum of the journalists of the state, through a release condemned the brutal attack.
