For if we fail to resolve the dialectic of governance, the barracks will continue to intrude upon the palace, and the people will remain trapped in the Sisyphean cycle of hope and betrayal. Unless the dialectic of governance is resolved through genuine synthesis – democracy, accountability, security ─ the cycle will repeat, and the continent will remain ensnared in the tragic rhythm of coups. It is the path that Africa – with Nigeria taking the lead – must take, lest the tragic rhythm of coups become the continent’s permanent soundtrack.
