As he often likes to remind us, the 67-year-old bought the Italian capital side in 2004 when the club was on the brink of bankruptcy. So while a large section of the fanbase accuses him of being too stingy, Lotito takes great pride in Lazio’s current financial status, reiterating how the club managed to settle its debts and is now a self-sufficient company. On the contrary, the Italian lawyer isn’t impressed with how some of the other Serie A clubs are being run, with owners often having to step in and cover the losses, or simply accumulate large debts.
