Robinson, for count one, aggravated murder, a capital felony in violation of Utah code annotated 76-5-202, in that on September 10th, 2025 in Utah County, the defendant, Tyler James Robinson, intentionally or knowingly caused the death of Charlie Kirk under the following circumstances,” Graf said. In addition to one count of aggravated murder, Judge Graf stated that Robinson will face one count of felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, two counts of obstruction of justice for hiding the rifle and discarding his clothing, two counts of witness tampering for instructing a roommate to delete texts, and one count of committing a violent offense in front of children. In one message to his roommate, Robinson allegedly told the roommate to look under his keyboard for a note that said, “I had the opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk and I’m going to take it.”
