On Thursday, the president announced that following a phone call that he described as “a very productive one,” the two had agreed to meet in Budapest, to work on bringing the “’inglorious’ war” between the two Eastern European countries to an end. “The meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine was very interesting, and cordial, but I told him, as I likewise strongly suggested to President Putin, that it is time to stop the killing, and make a DEAL! The president has stated that he is eager to strike a peace deal between the two countries, noting that he believed the war would be easier to resolve, and adding that there is a lot of bad blood between the two leaders.
