It is the latest version of the parable of the emperor’s new clothes, where anyone who dares to say “the emperor is naked!” instead of “the emperor is wearing the most beautiful clothing, that only the most intelligent will be able to see” must be “taken care of” somehow. It was the right decision to exclude Russia, in the aftermath of its illegal war that has caused immense death and suffering among civilians in the Ukraine – the very opposite of all that is beautiful and joyous. It’s starting to become a tale as old as time: just buy everything and everyone that says that the emperor is naked, until every media platform is singing the praises of the emperor’s new invisible clothes.
