The Feb. 19 memo from the California Republican Party Engagement Committee, obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, compared the tactics of Fuentes’ followers, known as “Groypers,” to the Democratic Socialists of America, which has gained influence in the Democratic Party. “Among the expressed goals of those who have adopted this ideology is not to necessarily win elections, as our members and constituents expect of the California Republican Party, but rather to place in the primary to then qualify for delegate and/or ex officio Central Committee status with (a) voting rights in the Party and (b) the ability to appoint and control other delegates that align with their views to eventually influence or take over the Party from within,” the memo states. The memo highlighted multiple comments from Fuentes, including a claim that “White people are every single bit justified in being racist … to the extent that means going out of your way to avoid Black people when you see them;” referring to Usha Vance with a racial slur and claiming that women “want to be raped.” Fuentes also gushed over Democratic California Gov.
