WBC Interim World flyweight champion Galal Yafai (9-1, 7 KOs) took a beating, getting dropped in the final round in a bloody fight to the former unified WBO and IBF minimumweight World champion Francisco ‘Chihuas’ Rodriguez, Jr. (40-6-1, 27 KOs) in a 12-round unanimous decision defeat on Saturday night at the bp pulse LIVE Arena, in Birmingham, England. In the first round, midway, Rodriguez landed a left uppercut on the chin, almost dropping Yafai, who kept pulling him into a clinch for most of the round, getting hurt again in the final seconds. In the twelfth and final round, Rodriguez landed five punches with a final left hook on the chin, dropping Yafai for an 8-count from referee Bates a minute into the round.
