This marks the first time Denji, the chainsaw-headed anti-hero, is hitting the big screen in what looks like a beautifully animated, high-octane expansion of the anime series. The movie is described as an “epic, action-fueled adventure that continues the hugely popular anime series.” In the story, “Denji worked as a Devil Hunter for the yakuza, trying to pay off the debt he inherited from his parents, until the yakuza betrayed him and had him killed. Directed by Chainsaw Man series veteran Tatsuya Yoshihara, with a script by Hiroshi Seko and animation by MAPPA, the film dives deep into one of the manga’s most fan-favorite arcs.
