The 10-episode series will star Matthew Rhys, of The Beast in Me and Perry Mason fame, as Tom Loftis, the mayor of a New England town who refuses to heed the superstitious residents of the town when they warn him it's cursed. To be sure, there have been a lot of horror TV shows, but horror comedy is a critical part of the genre, and for a moment, it seemed dead. Shows like Widow's Bay are a great sign for the health of the horror genre, because it takes an appreciation of horror to find the humor in it.
