The new prequel's story will follow young Shaw as an American operative in 1984 as he tries to stop the Soviets from releasing a Titan with the potential to obliterate the United States and change the trajectory of the Cold War. Other previous producer and writer credits include Edge of Tomorrow, Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, and Andy Muschietti's The Flash. The time period of the new prequel allows more of the history of Shaw, the Monarch organization, and the Titans to be explored without bumping against Legacy of Monsters.
