Angels’ massive fireworks blunder leaves fans fuming

Almost a year to the day prior, fireworks went off in the bottom of the ninth with the home team in the process losing 11-0 to the Mariners. Entering the 2025 All-Star break, the Angels sit at 47-49, second-to-last in the American League West with a seven-game cushion ahead of the Athletics and almost assuredly set to stretch their postseason-less streak to another year. There is some hope for the future — 23-year-old first baseman Nolan Schanuel has a .764 OPS with a 1.4 WAR while 26-year-old pitcher Jose Soriano is also having a solid season with a 1.8 WAR — but seemingly plenty of time to get the fireworks situation sorted out in the meantime.
