Garfield, who is best known for playing Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man film series, has been nominated for two Academy Awards in the past, one for his portrayal of Desmond Doss in the 2016 war film Hacksaw Ridge, and another for playing Jonathan Larson in the musical Tick, Tick... Boom!. The new limited series titled Wild Things, based on the Apple Original podcast about the pair, has tapped Only Murders in the Building's John Hoffman as lead writer, showrunner, director, and executive producer, joined by Brian Grazer as an executive producer and Matt Shakman as a director and executive producer. Wild Things consists of eight hour-long episodes that tell the "wild ride relationship tale of two of the greatest showmen-magicians in history," whose illusions transcend Sin City into a family-friendly destination, but what starts as a charming magic duo ends in a night of terror when a white tiger breaks off its routine to attack the audience.
