But Rodríguez struggled in 2012 — it was his first bad season as a professional — before bouncing back in 2013 after signing another one-year deal in Milwaukee, when he started the season with a 1.09 ERA and 10 saves in 24 2/3 innings before the Brewers shipped him to Baltimore about a week before the trade deadline. For his whole career, Rodríguez built a resumé that includes 437 saves — sixth on the all-time list, fourth at the time of his retirement — and a 2.86 career ERA (148 ERA+), good enough numbers to put him somewhere in the top 10-to-12 relievers in the history of the game.
