From the action thriller The Hurt Locker (2008) to the animated superhero action flick Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023), these new Netflix movies all have over 90% on Rotten Tomatoes from the critics. Thanks to The Hurt Locker, which won 'Best Picture' at the 82nd Academy Awards, Kathryn Bigelow broke a huge record by becoming the first woman to win the Oscar for 'Best Director'. There are five movies in the series, but only four of which are coming to Netflix October 5 – and it's only the second installment that has a 97% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
