Even with the analog sticks, PS1 platformers tend to be a little clunky, making Ape Escape 2's leap to the PlayStation 2 feel like a breath of fresh air. Astro's Playroom and Astro Bot featured Ape Escape as part of a larger celebration of PlayStation IPs, and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater resurrected an Ape Escape mode from the original PS2 version. It's not surprising that Sony didn't push Ape Escape for the PS3, as the franchise's cartoon style didn't fit in among flagships like Uncharted and The Last of Us.
